FII and REIT: the differences between real estate funds in Brazil and the USA

REITs have gained prominence in the media and in Brazilian investments. This week Franklin Tanioka, partner and head of research at RBR Asset, commented on the topic to the E-Investidor portal.

According to him, an important difference in comparison with FIIs is that REITs “have a component of growth rather than recurrence. Like FIIs, they pay dividends, but companies that generate profit also invest this in their business model”, he says.
