Growing up in an adverse scenario

The appetite of institutional investors, such as pension funds, for investments abroad remains high in 2022, despite the troubled global scenario. This is because the strategy improves the risk-return ratio of the portfolio.

Resource allocations in REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), companies that own and operate real estate assets in the US market, fit into this picture.

In a special issue of Investidor Institucional about investments abroad, the partner and manager of international investments at RBR Asset, Daniel Malheiros, explains that this class protects against inflation and is linked to the growth of the American economy. In general, they offer higher returns than the variation of inflation – as is the case with residential rental contracts in the US, for example.
